About this company
Endeavor Energy Resources, LP
In 1979, Autry C. Stephens left his job to take a new path in the oil business. Starting small while working out of a one room office, he began the groundwork for a company that would continue to grow over time.
Over 39 years later, Endeavor Energy Resources, LP has grown into one of the largest private employers in Midland, employing over 1,300 associates.
Stephens got the company started with their first purchase of 80 acres of land that eventually led to the first well, McClintic B-30 #2, in the Spraberry Field in 1979. Since then, the company has continued to trend upward.
In 2000, the company officially was reorganized as Endeavor Energy Resources, LP. Five years later, Endeavor continued to grow with their purchase of Perenco Energy, which they later renamed to LCX Energy, LLC. That acquisition helped continue their path of growth within the Midland Basin as daily production increased by 30 percent.
Within the company is Endeavor Energy Services which is a collection of companies that helps provide services and stable pricing for their Endeavor Exploration and Production Company. The energy services division has a range of services including trucking, roustabout, well service, wireline, vehicle maintenance, and construction services.
While the oil industry can be very volatile with rapid swings going up and down, Endeavor has continued to follow its mission of building a top tier independent oil and gas company through their investment of time and capital in the Permian Resource Plays.
Of the company’s 500,000 total net acres in their possession, Endeavor has over 300,000 net acres in the Midland Basin alone. Thanks to the ever-improving technology with drilling wells and the efficiency with which they are able to extract the oil, Endeavor has decades ahead of drilling left to be done.
In 2016, Stephens named Charles Meloy as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Meloy takes over at a time where company is moving from being a vertical operator to a horizontal operator along with the many other changes the industry has experienced over the past few years.
For employees, those working at Endeavor have access to a wide range of benefits, including a free medical plan that has access to a private family clinic exclusive to employees and their dependents. Along with competitive base pay in the industry and other compensation benefits, Endeavor also places a high priority with its employees having a strong work/life balance.
Endeavor also is involved in giving back to the community through their work supporting groups including Be the Change Permian Basin and Oil Patch Kids. “We strive to make a positive impact in our community as a corporate citizen. We believe in the value of our employees and are dedicated to developing our employees professionally,” the company says on its website.
